Morning all, best of luck Su2ie in your interview, let us know the result, I have just picked 2 1/2 pounds of black currants and made a black currant and mint loaf (the mint fresh from the garden as well.) Its in the oven right now if it turns out tasty then I will make more loafs for the freezer,
We have cloudy but warm weather this morning so the washing is out already the house tidy up also done so I think I’ll have a cuppa now. And carry on with my topsy turvy doll. Talk later, oh by the way is any body watching Kirsty Alsop new series celebrity craft challenge on every day at 5pm on channel 4.?

Nice to have you back linda , hope jade is much better.

Hope baby comes soon Lisa but first babies are notorious for being late .anxiously waiting for news .

Tracey hope it gets quieter at work, are you covering holidays too.?

Nice to hear from you Su2ie . Good news about hubby's op that's quick. I hope all goes well with Alex and her tests. Good luck with interview.

Visitors for us yesterday and again today so loads of chatting and coffee flowing , old friends so lovely to catch up. A younger visitor today who is at university and absorbing knowledge like a sponge , he is looking for help with some history project which is hubby's subject .

I might manage a visit to Teresa my daughter this afternoon depending on time limits , today we have rain again and flood alerts so laundry hanging indoors . My embroidery patterns arrived so hope to look at them in the evening. Have a good day , not seen Denise posting for a while hope she is ok

Edit . Yes I am watching Kirsty every day linda a d enjoying it .

Evening 😊

I think the interview went well but it sounds like there are a lot more people for them to interview over the next 2 weeks so will be a while before I hear. Got to make cakes soon for tomorrow for the hospital appointment.

Lisa hopefully baby will be on the way soon!
Liz I hope the flooding isn’t bad where you are! Are you still decluttering?
Linda how did that cake taste? Must be healthy with all that fruit! 😋

Have a good evening all xx

Hello everyone. I keep forgetting i have the internet again, it's strange, but probably healthier, Alia and I took some paints and paper outside under the gazebo and had a day painting, in between playing in her sandpit and we put the pool out too.

Had loads to do since I've been back lots of things never got chance to get done before we had to go to look after my brother in law. My husband was half way through refitting the bathroom so it still has the wallboards and floorboards up so he can get to the plumbing and electricity. If I'm honest I think the job is too much for him, he was 60 last weekend but in his head he's still forty, (sometimes I think more like 10) but his joints are up to all that kneeling on the floor trying to do the plumbing so it's taking longer than thought anyway.

I had a big shock when I went in there the other night. The toilet is still in place and he sort of plumbed the sink in a different place so we at least have a toilet and sink for now so I don't always have to go down stairs to the other bathroom. So I went to go to the toilet, put the light on shut the door and I heard a noise, I looked up and a bat flew right at me, I had to duck (and get out of the bathroom very fast with maybe a very loud scream😱) It must have got in under the eves of the house and part of the bathroom ceiling slopes because of the roof so where the boards are all off the walls and part of the ceiling must have made a gap and it got trapped in the bathroom, me putting the light on must have made it start flying around.

Anyway since then Tom has worked a bit harder to get it done 😁

I hope your interview goes well Suzie and I hope it's less hours and more money 😁

Mint and Blackberry is a combination I have never tried, you will have to tell us how it was Linda, Our garden got very neglected this summer I'm afraid, Tom had dug up a big patch of garden that he was going to plant in (vegetables I think) but he never got around to it because of the bathroom and his brother. However a volunteer pumpkin from last year decided to grow in the very middle of it and has spread like wildfire while we were away. Hopefully we will get some pumpkins from it but I did see two male deer in the garden last night, very beautiful with big antlers but they will probably eat any pumpkins that grow.

You sound like you are having a very sociable week Liz, so nice to have visitors sometimes. To answer your question no i haven't been able to get any crafting done, I am still half way through the same baby blanket I was working on before I went away. I took it with me but didn't really feel like crocheting because I was getting a numbness in some of my fingers whenever my arm was in a certain position, like I had a trapped nerve. Stopping crocheting has completely cleared that up so I think I just overdid it a bit, when I get back to it I will have to ease in slowly and remember plenty of breaks.

I hope the baby comes before your daughter has to be induced, Lisa. I'm sure it's frustrating for her, that last week or two really drags, you are so over being pregnant by then 😃 but it's so common for first babies to be late.

Have a good night everyone x

Morning 😊

Oh Sarah how frightening with the bat! I think I’d have screamed too! 🤣 how annoying you’re getting problems crocheting, hope it doesn’t impact you too much!

The new job would be same hours and pay, just more specialised and in an area I’m more interested in. If I’m going to be at work all day it may as well be doing something I’m more interested in 😁 I’ve lots of competition though!

Cakes are baked and we are off to the hospital for 10am. I’m not good at baking cakes with eggs I’ve decided 😳

Speak later folks x

Exciting time Lisa has the sweep done any good , take her on a long walk if not .

Sarah I would have screamed if I was confronted with a bat indoors you must have got a scare, outdoors it's not so bad lol. Hopefully hubby gets bathroom finished soon, you must be very patient , I afraid I am not . Try to rest before the new baby comes Sarah .

Su2ie glad interview went well . I hope alex was ok with eggs today , Brianna is egg intolerant too. To answer your question yes I am still de-cluttering Su2ie, but hubby seems To be he'll bent on hindering me , he's filling the cleared spaces 😡. Hoarding is his middle name .

Been out with dogs today and bought a couple of new pillows from Argos and done some HW ,not much else to report . My June swap came in the post today will post pic later on appropriate thread .

How was your cake linda ?.

Liz good on you with the decluttering but it’s a pity your hubby is filling the spaces! Mine likes to cover all surfaces with little piles of his belongings...

Egg/cake eating didn’t go great. She managed half a cupcake over a 2 1/2 hour period but she developed the majority of her normal allergy symptoms, except she didn’t throw up. They think this is a step forward though. She’s relaxing now with antihistamine!

It feels like it’s been an incredibly long day... Back to work tomorrow for a rest 🤣

Suzie cakes look yummy.sarah that’s funny about the bat it would have made me jump but they are quite awesome looking animals.THe sweep has made her uncomfortable I glad she didn’t start yesterday as I was up the night before and through day with a stomach bug so I wouldn’t have be able to go .She is now drinking raspberry leaf tea recommend by midwife she has also eaten lots of pineapple she really wants a water birth at birthing centre if she has to be induced she has to go to a different hospital the funny thing is the midwife said do squats Ria is so small before pregnancy she just has this large ball that’s so tight at the front I said she had no chance doing squats so I brought her one of them exercise balls to bounce about on lol.i really can’t wait for him to come safely Ria has been desperate to be a mum.xx
