Afternoon all, yes we have sunny weather the more sunny days the better then the heating doesn’t come on, but in the early morning it is so cold the heating is working away to keep the house at 20c. Food shopping this morning and it is so quiet here and very tidy , my John is a stickler for putting things away, I must clear my corner up or he will start again so for peace and quiet I will do it, I am a one for having all the crafts gathered around me.
I think I will pick some more apples 9ff the tree and make another tartatan. It was such a success with the family. And I might have enough energy to make a sponge cake in my cylicone cake dish that has the hole in the middle and once cooked stuff some strawberry’s in the hole and ice it. I have bought some new multi coloured wool will probable try it on my knitting machine. Well better get the dinner on the go talk later. Linda x

Hello, I'm not feeling well this morning, nothing specific just a general feeling of blah. Hope it goes away as the day progresses. Might try and do a bit of sewing, I am still working on my footstool, I made the cushion part at the top and put that on but my husband was going to strengthen the underneath. It used to have those kind of elastic slats across but they have lost their springiness and so if anyone heavier than Alia sits on it just plunges down in the middle, Tom said he would put some wood under it but he hasn't gotten around to it with the bathroom and his back hurting so I don't like to remind him. All i need to do is sew the skirt that goes around the bottom and I'm done so maybe I can do that today.

Liz I have used those popper kits and they are quite easy. My hands aren't very strong because of arthritis and so I use two hands to make sure I squeeze the tool hard enough but I can do it. I have three different tools, two came free with the poppers and the third I bought thinking it would be easier but to be honest that one is harder and the freebie simple ones are easier. I use the poppers on dolls clothing, and bags and things for alia, also for pacifier/toy clips for babies and for key-chains. I am also thinking of using some clear vinyl that I have to make a cover that fits over my footstool and down the sides. I was thinking that I could fold the sides neatly and add a popper to keep it in place. Alia uses the footstool like a table so it will save it from felt pen marks and spilt drinks and I will just be able to remove the cover whenever I want.

What are you going to make with your multi coloured wool Linda? I bought some multi coloured too mine has a silver thread through it, I was thinking of making a couple of matching scarves for either myself and Alia or Alia and her mom because I have trouble getting her to wrap up in Winter and I thought I might be able to get her to wear the scarf if it matched someone elses and the glittery thread. But I can't start that yet as I'm working on a blanket for my mother in law who has cancer.

I haven't seen Denise either, not anyone from the management or moderator team to be honest.

Hope everyone else is well and all your lovely cooking and baking turns out well. We are having chicken curry tonight courtesy of my eldest son so that will be lovely.

5pm : hi everyone, been out for lunch today with hubby and had a gorgeous salad followed by a latte and fruit cake yummy .

Been using scrap fabric to cut out applique, it will all be used in Christmas projects that are still in my head 🤣

Sarah thank you some good ideas from you for using my popper kit, I am trying not to play with it until I clear away some of my on going stash that surrounds me . Your idea of covering the stool in plastic sounds practical we used to have a large stool that was so useful and the cover was removable . Kids used it for everything .

linda did you get your baking done ? Let us know what you decide to knit with your new yarn . The house will be quiet now without made and ethan so keep busy .

Well I am off to investigate a large old chest which hasn't been opened for years and I have some uses for it , hope it's not packed full.

Well I have redeemed myself and done my baking this morning, I have made another home grown apple tartatan and a apricot pie all with one sheet of puff pastry. I have my silicone cake mould out ready to do a sponge and strawberry cake, but having a sit down and a cuppa at the moment. The sun is shinning according to the weather man this is our last day of sunshine it’s supposed to be getting colder and wetter from Sunday onwards. I am in the mood to start some arm warmers this afternoon let’s see if this idea materialises how is everybody doing what are your plans for the day.? Linda x

Linda - Your baking sounds delicious.....as always. 😊
Sarah - Hope you’re feeling better now.
As for me.....my usual Saturday. Housework, washing etc. Did pop out for a walk, and stopped for coffee and cake with Jay early afternoon. Have done some knitting, and started a C2C crochet blanket too.
Take care all. x

Sunday 3pm : we still have sun but with a nip in the air .
Been having the a tidy up of my chair area and sorted out my September swaps ready to go. I did that old chest linda and found it full of stationery , index cards , cash boxes , dozens of pens and pencils sticky labels and staplers , stuff we used when we wrote and printed local history books also my ceramic glazes and paints all dried up , reckon it's all been in there 20 years . Now I plan to use it for craft storage will put on a pic once I refill it .

Sounds like that house of yours is filled with the smell of home baking linda , bet John is loving it , and Tracey you are all organised too , take a bow ladies. 👏

I have started a box of household items for charity, and a box of craft stash for my daughter in law , so along with the craft book clear out I guess I have the declutter bug back , 😃.

I hope everyone is feeling good and that Sarah feels much better
