4 handfuls of senna pods boil kettle cover the senna pods with boiling water leave them soaking for 30 mins
8 figs cut into quarters put in blender
After 30 mins drain 100ml of the senna fluid into a jug throw away the pods
Put the senna liquid into blender and blend until smooth.
Put into saucepan add 100 grams of sugar on a medium heat cook it for 3o mins stir so doesn’t burn on bottom.
After 30 take it off the heat and squeeze in half of a lemon give it a good stir when cool jar up take two teaspoons before bed everyday will last up to four weeks in fridge.

Oh my a blast from the past, we would have a spoonful of syrup of figs when I was a kid back in the 1950’s. What a recipe, thanks Lisa, just got to get the ingredients where did you get yours from. Any info would be gratefully received. Linda x
