I've done this in the past just not recently and as I need to make a blanket for the dog as he's got a lot older and feels the cold more.

I decided I'd go the cheaper option and buy a large jumper from the charity shop unravel it and re knit it into a large dog blanket.

However I got a bit over enthusicatic I bought 5 jumper to unravell all very soft all mixed fibre yarns. The cheapest cost £2.75 the more expensive cost me £3.99.

I've unravelled all but one thus far.

This is my new recycled yarn stash

and this is the jumper to be unravelled

Clever idea. I love the idea of repurposing something. A lot of work but hopefully worth it in the end.
