Decided to use up my odd balls of wool as many different colours as could find so this is how far I have come to now...96 squares to make the poncho, plus fringing and lots of patience......the original pattern I see cost 5p or 1/-...so you can tell how old the pattern is....shall show you the progress..I have completed 58 squares so far.......so just over half the amount needed to complete it then the fringe and finishings.. So far so good....Mary

Thank you for the accolades..I am slowing down rather these days as health not so good, so crochet is the easiest for me to work on which I could do almost with eyes closed as learned to crochet in the 2nd World War years when I was 5 years old....used to crochet from old unpulled sweaters and mother had reels of fine crochet cotton which made table placements etc.so...that was 78 years ago I learned the basics at 5 years of age...with the finer cotton I might add....couldn't do that now...guess I am past my prime as one of our members has noticed when I do the "games" and misread......sorry about that..bear with me...I do still make greeting cards but not in the quantitites I used to...the odd one for a friend and our own..but look back at all the crafts I have dabbled in......and enjoyed the journey...so try something new, work on it with pleasure....Mary
