A couple of pictures on the progress this afternoon, jade suggested I make a few squares and sew them together to make a rug. It’s working out so quickly I thought I would do that.

. Back side which I work from

. Front side that has the pile very soft.

I really like that effect. I thought that punch needle looked more like tapestry, I seem to remember having a kit somewhere that I didn't finish, or maybe even start.

Thanks Sarah, I would like to see the kit you have and tell me more about it. The wool I am using makes the pile side so thick and soft. It would be lovely as a cushion as well.. there are so many interesting patterns on Pinterest. If you get time I hope you get interested in this craft so we can swap ideas and tips. X

I love it Linda. It’s gorgeous. You are so talented with all the crafts you do. The rug idea sounds brilliant. I’m hoping to make this year my ‘New Craft’ year. 😀 Am going to see what different crafts I can master.....Well that’s the plan anyway. 😂 Am off to look online for the Punch Needle now. 😊

Did you find a punch needle Tracey, I have experimented andfound the big punch needle is ok with hessian to make a thick wool rug type fabric but hessian gets down my throat with dust ect, the 6 count Aida is just right for rug type pile , 14 count Aida is good with a thin punch needle and fine work like punching a detailed picture . For cushions ect. I have the big punch needle and have sent from amazon for the thinner punch needle. I hope some members will join me with tips and a finished project. X

Hi Linda. I’ve ordered the same punch needle as yours, for rug and thicker type work. Can you tell me what thinner punch needle you ordered as would like one of those as well. Then will decide what to do first. Thank you so much for the tips it is really helpful, as I didn’t have a clue about it. Will get the Aida ordered too and take it from there. Thanks again Linda for all your helpful advice. It’s brilliant. xx
